What are we all about?

My name is Grace, and I'm the founder of Light It Up English. When I started this, I wanted it to be not only fun and effective for our students, but a place where learning English doesn't take away from their culture and identity. I understand the struggle to balance two separate cultures, as I am half-Chinese and half-American. But in our curriculum, we include learning about Chinese cultural aspects in English as well as American aspects, allowing our students to feel at home.

Hiya! I'm Grace, and kids and other cultures are some of my biggest passions. I love meeting and laughing and teaching kids from other cultures, especially China! I speak Chinese fluently, so I will be able to communicate seamlessly with your child no matter their English level.
Hi! My name is Marian! Some of my favorite hobbies are to read and write. My father was an English teacher and I inherited my love of English and teaching from him. I am so excited to be part of the team here at Light It Up English, and can't wait to help you start on your journey of learning English!
